Stacy Ellen Rich discovered metalwork, jewelry fabrication, lost wax casting and fell in love. Her pieces echo 70s Brutalist art, relics, Egyptian iconography, Judaica, Death Rock (proto goth), and the New Romantics. This penchant along with her experience in renegade garment design and antique/vintage clothing carried her abroad to study in Florence, Italy. Soon after her return to the states, she delved into theatrical costume design and didn’t look back. In 2017, she realized after so many years without the art of metal work in her life, she wanted to rekindle that love and has now incorporated her metal designs into a multitude of works.
Rich still has her first exhibition pieces from high school and holds true on that aesthetic she created so long ago.
